Bio
Laura attended the University of Minnesota, where she received her B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy and attended St. Catherine’s University, where she received her advanced master’s degree in occupational therapy. Laura’s clinical experience includes work in private practice, educational and hospital settings. Laura has worked with children across the age span with complex medical, developmental, neurological and psychological challenges in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. Laura has advanced training and competencies in DIR Floortime, complex feeding challenges, autism, sensory processing disorders, attention deficit disorder, concussion, dysgraphia and she has worked with a wide range of families of multiple cultures and languages. Laura has also been a faculty instructor in occupational therapy programs at the University of Minnesota and St. Catherine’s University. She served as the Program Director for the OTA program at Herzing University. She is the instructor and content expert for Doodilydoo, an online cursive handwriting program. Laura’s hobbies include kayaking, bicycling, swimming, skiing, and hiking around all the Minnesota lakes and parks. Practicing yoga and creating wheel thrown and hand-built pottery are her favorite ways to fuel her inner peace. Laura is focused on building and supporting the strengths and capacities of children and families by teaching them new strategies that support a child’s unique developmental needs.
