Bio

Laura is an owner and Clinic Manager at Kid Talk, where she specializes in pediatric feeding, childhood apraxia of speech, orofacial myofunctional disorders (OFM), and hearing loss.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2010 and her Master of Science degree from the University of Arizona in 2012. After graduation, Laura moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she founded and owned a private practice focused on helping children with hearing loss, craniofacial anomalies (including cleft lip and palate, 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, and Pierre Robin sequence), apraxia, and other speech and language disorders.

Over the years, Laura has worked with children with a wide variety of needs, including apraxia of speech, cleft lip and palate, orofacial myofunctional disorders, feeding disorders, hearing loss, articulation disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, and Down syndrome. She is PROMPT Level 1 trained and uses a range of specialized approaches to support each child’s communication journey.

Laura is passionate about building strong connections with families and believes the most efficient progress happens when everyone works together as a team. She works hard to create an encouraging environment where children can grow their skills and confidence. Most of all, she loves celebrating meaningful progress—big and small—with the families she serves.
